Home Mission Society

On November 7, 2007, The Most Reverend Michael F. Burbidge announced the establishment of the Diocese of Raleigh Home Mission Society. Its purpose is to secure funding for the construction of mission churches and chapels in the mission areas of the Diocese of Raleigh. A special emphasis will be placed on building churches and chapels in areas where the parishioners are not presently able, because of present economic circumstance, to fund the construction of sacred worship space in the traditional manner of capital campaigns, loans, and parish savings. The Diocese of Raleigh Home Mission Society Committee will make recommendations to the Bishop of Raleigh about where the funds that are raised for the Diocese of Raleigh Mission Society should be allocated, and in what priority and amount those funds should be allocated
