Key responsibilities / day-to-day job functions

  • Demonstrates strong, confident leadership
  • Fosters an educational environment that insures the ongoing presence of Catholic values and ensures academic excellence
  • Curriculum and accreditation oversight
  • Staff supervision and development
  • Manages financial & administrative paperwork
  • Develops and implements annual and long range goals and strategies as identified by SACS

Supervises

  • 50 full-time and part-time faculty and administrative staff including:
    • Assistant Principal, Dean of Middle School, Recruiting and Advancement coordinators, and School Counselor

Minimum Requirements

  • Be a practicing Catholic in good standing
  • Have a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or closely related field
  • Have 3 years of successful teaching, preferably in Catholic Schools
  • Have a minimum of 3 years of successful senior leadership experience, preferably with K-8 experience
  • Be licensed as a principal by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction or be eligible for a NC principal license

  • Shares a common vision for a Catholic school that aligns with St. Raphael’s vision as a parish
  • Is a faithful follower of Jesus committed to personal prayer who makes and teaches disciples
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong and proven leadership including openness to learn and grow as a leader
