Hours per week: 16-20 hours (Mon., Wed., Thu., Fri. 9am – 1pm and Sundays 8:45am-1:15 pm during the school year)

Position Summary:

St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Wake Forest, NC is seeking a Faith Formation Assistant. This is a part time position that will assist the Director of Religious Education and staff to support the work of K-5 Faith Formation programs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assists the DRE in planning and implementing Faith Formation and Sacramental Preparation Programs.
  • Set up for baptisms once a month.
  • Administrative duties such as processing registrations, collecting and recording payments, tracking attendance, gathering paperwork for reception of sacraments, and preparing sacramental certificates.
  • Communicates with Parishioners and Faith Formation families in person, by phone, and/or email.
  • Maintains sacramental records.
  • Participates in staff meetings.
  • Answers the phone and covers reception desk as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate degree or equivalent office experience in lieu of degree.
  • 3+ years of experience.
  • Must be an active, fully-initiated, practicing Catholic.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google products.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Team-oriented – ability to work toward parish and staff goals.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks.
  • Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Working knowledge of Catholic sacraments and sacramental living.
  • Experience in educational setting and/or catechetical experience.
