4th Grade Teacher

Hours Per Week:  40 (Full-time)

Key responsibilities / day-to-day job functions:

• Foster a Catholic culture in your work with students, colleagues, administration, parents.
• Planning and presenting engaging lessons to facilitate students' understanding and application of all 4th grade standards and concepts.
• Preparing and distributing learning material such as notes, assignments, and quizzes.
• Sourcing the resources and supplies needed for lessons.
• Maintaining a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to learning.
• Documenting and reporting on students' progress including grading assignments, quizzes and tests in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with administrator and colleagues in planning and facilitating middle school activities and events.
• Attending meetings with parents and staff.

Minimum Requirements:

• Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks.
• Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training within 60 days of hire.
• Minimum level of Education:  College Degree.
• Minimum amount of Work Experience:
  • Years of related work experience  1-3 years preferred.
  • Area of related work experience: Math experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Applicants should hold a North Carolina teaching certificate in Math grades 6-8.
• Practicing Catholics in good standing with the Church who have prior teaching experience in a Catholic school setting preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to provide a differentiated instructional environment that incorporates a wide range of instructional strategies, including cooperative and project based learning, independent and small group activities with hands-on learning experiences.
