Key responsibilities / day-to-day job functions

  • Design, write/edit weekly print bulletin
  • Design, write-edit weekly electronic communication
  • Maintain a relevant, up-to-date, intuitive and content rich website
  • Manage parish social media strategy, protocols and content
  • As a member of the Communications Committee, support the successful attainment of the Communications priority of the Parish Strategic plan

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum level of Education: College degree preferred
  • Minimum amount of Work Experience
    • Years of related work experience: 1-3 years of experience
    • Area of related work experience: journalism, public relations, marketing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Ability to work independently, with active organizational skills
  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Awareness of current and emerging social media platforms and how to effectively connect with them
  • Ability to create graphics and images and customize purchased graphics and images
  • Knowledge of desktop publishing software (Microsoft Office Suite including Publisher)
  • Website management and editing skills
  • Strong knowledge of emailing systems (Mailchimp)
