Hours Per Week:  40 (Full-time)

Key responsibilities / day-to-day job functions:

  • Coordinating and/or directing the choirs, accompanists, and ensemble musicians at 7 weekend Masses (in both English and Spanish).
  • Collaborating with the Pastor and the Parish Staff for liturgies and other communal celebrations. 
  • Selecting music for all liturgies (English, Spanish, and bilingual for Sundays, Holy Days, bilingual masses, and special liturgies [e.g., annual Memorial Mass, Mañanitas, Virgen de Guadalupe]). 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks.
  • Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training within 60 days of hire.
  • Must have extensive experience with Roman Catholic liturgy. 
  • Minimum level of Education: A Bachelor of Arts degree in music, theology, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum amount of Work Experience:
    • Years of related work experience:  A minimum of 3 years' experience in Catholic parish music ministry.
  • Area of related work experience:  Demonstrated proficiency as an organist and/or pianist and demonstrated competency directing volunteer choirs and musicians.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient (moderate) in English and Spanish or a willingness to work toward moderate proficiency in both languages.
