Position Summary:

Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Durham, NC is seeking a Youth Minister to provide a youth program for grades 6 -12 including formation, service and social opportunities and sacramental preparation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide formation programs that engage the youth of the parish.
  • Provide sacramental preparation for Middle and High School students.
  • Plan service opportunities for the youth.
  • Plan social activities for the youth.
  • Provide pastoral care for the middle and high school students helping them to grow in their relationship with Christ, the Church and other leaders in our community.
  • Recruit, train and nurture volunteers to work with our young people.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA in theology or youth development is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with youth.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with volunteers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Competent in the use of social media
  • Bi-lingual (English – Spanish)
