Position Summary:

Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Durham, NC is seeking an Accountant to maintain the financials for the parish and the school.

Key responsibilities:

• Responsible for maintaining financial records of the parish and school and providing decision makers with timely and accurate information.
• Undergo regular audits by the diocese of financial controls and adherence to best practices.
• Collaborate with staff on budgeting, proper approvals of expenses, and financial planning.
• Conduct quarterly and annual financial reporting to the finance council and diocese through written and verbal presentations.
• Responsible for payroll review for parish and school on bi-weekly basis and analysis of discrepancies.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, or at least 2 years of professional work experience in accounting in lieu of degree.
• Employment is contingent upon applicant satisfactorily passing criminal background and reference checks.
• Must complete diocese-sponsored Safe Environment Training.
