The Diocese of Raleigh is seeking a Parish Data Coordinator to oversee the appropriate development and use of parish data. The Parish Data Coordinator will determine, plan, and document efficient ways to organize, store, and transfer parish data with attention to security and confidentiality. This position reports to the Director of Data Operations. The goal of the position is to ensure the flow of structured and unstructured data in a timely and secure manner between the parishes and the Diocese of Raleigh and to optimize parish data software systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze parish data systems and evaluate their performance to drive continuous improvement through new technologies and upgrades
  • Design policies for effective parish data management
  • Work closely with parish staff to troubleshoot data-related problems and authorize maintenance or modifications
  • Maintain and optimize process for diocesan/parish data sharing
  • Formulate techniques for quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of parish data
  • Collaborate with parishes as the primary direct point of contact to translate, recommend and develop solutions to specific data requests
  • Devise and implement efficient and secure procedures for data handling and analysis with attention to all technical details
  • Consistently update parishioner constituent data to maintain data integrity throughout database
  • Support parishes with reports, queries, lists, and data extraction as needed
  • Create, compile, coordinate and conduct parish training in support of data process and best practices
  • Develop, document, apply and promote consistent database management standards through SOPs, knowledge base articles and well-defined workflows
  • Provide support to parishes through the data operations ticketing system

Required Qualifications:

  • BS / BA or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of data and/or operations experience
  • Intermediate user in Microsoft Office products specifically Excel
  • Experience manipulating and analyzing data sets
  • Excellent collaboration skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with reporting and data visualization
  • 2+ years of Raiser’s Edge experience
  • Proficiency with data management
  • Working knowledge of parish census products
  • Experience working with vendors on miscellaneous data projects
