Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
The theme chosen for the 2017 Bishop’s Annual Appeal is “Instruments of God’s Mercy.” This theme was once again chosen as a reminder to remain mindful of those most in need of our assistance.
The Bishop’s Annual Appeal funds 30 ministries of charity, worship and evangelization, serving as an instrument of God’s mercy within our Diocese. In 2016, the BAA raised more than $7.7 million to assist over 59,000 people through Catholic Charities, educate our 24 seminarians as they prepare to become Priests and fund 25 grants to small parishes to ensure that a Catholic presence is maintained in that area. There are many additional, great works funded by the Bishop’s Annual Appeal, and your support is vital.
Please take the time to explore this site and learn more about the BAA and the critical ministries it serves. I respectfully ask for your prayers and support of the 2017 Bishop’s Annual Appeal. May God bless you always.
Sincerely in the Lord,
Monsignor Michael P. Shugrue
