Basic Catechist Certification for Catholic School Teachers

This page is under construction; please check back.

There are three main components a Catholic school teacher should have knowledge of: Foundation in Catholic Doctrine, Methodology in Catechesis, and Catholic School Culture. Experience in each of these three components is required to complete the Basic Catechist Certification requirements. This certificate program is designed to be completed via online courses and/or through independent studies. Components may be completed in any order.  It is essential the teacher save required assignments and/or course completion certificates to be uploaded for diocesan records following the completion of all three certificate components. This will be done through the online Basic Application (see link below).

Note: Certification requirements available in Spanish.

Program will be introduced to Catholic School principals August 1, 2018.
