Sixty educators gather for New Teacher Orientation

Dr. Mike Fedewa, superintendent of Schools, welcomed 60 educators embarking on their first year of teaching for a Catholic school in the Diocese of Raleigh to new teacher orientation held at St. Francis of Assisi in Raleigh.

The day opened with the top 10 reasons why working in a Catholic School is significantly different from many other school environments. Factors that distinguish Catholic education included "parents are our allies" and "prayer is a key to life." Fedewa pointed out the number one factor, "Jesus Christ is the reason for our schools."

“If you have Jesus Christ as your mission statement,” said Fedewa, “you will have a successful year.”
