It's not too late to register for the 22nd Birthchoice Run for Life on Saturday, August 20. This annual event held at Cary’s Wake Med Soccer Park, includes a one-mile fun run and a 5k race. Runners and walkers of all levels are welcome and the race is stroller friendly.
Proceeds from this year’s event and future events benefit Birthchoice, a pro-life organization which provides free services, such as ultrasounds and counseling, to pregnant women.
Birthchoice has been providing free services to pregnant women in the Raleigh area since 1971. Offering pregnancy tests, limited ultrasounds, and other services at no cost and with no obligation, clients are cared for in a respectful and loving environment and empowered to make informed decisions.
Mary Angelini started the annual run in 1994 with the goal of saving babies from abortion, educating mothers on services and promoting both the pro-life cause and pro-life organizations.
Last year, $9,091 was raised to support Birthchoice. Since its inception the race has raised more than $200,000 for many organizations that promote the dignity and sanctity of human life. Organizations such as Galilee House, Project Rachel and Triangle Downs Syndrome Network have benefitted from the Run for Life.
Registration begins at 7:00 am at the Wake Med Soccer Park or by contacting Betty Rogosich at firstname.lastname@example.org. The one-mile fun run takes place at 8:00 am and the 5K begins at 8:30 am.
