National Vocation Awareness Week Set For November 6-12

Bishop Burbidge offers the following remarks:

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

The Catholic Church in the United States will celebrate National Vocation Awareness Week from November 6-12, 2016. In a special way during National Vocation Awareness Week, I encourage you to pray daily for the grace to continue to live a life worthy of the call you have received and to provide the help and encouragement that our young people need to respond generously to God's call.

To assist you in highlighting this special week in the life of the Church, you can find more information and resources on the USCCB Vocation website (

I take this opportunity to thank you for praying for our 26 seminarians by name and asking God to grant them the gift of perseverance. Please also pray that more individuals from our Diocese will respond to the Lord's call to serve as priests and as Consecrated Religious.

Be assured of my prayers for you and your family. May Our Lord Jesus abundantly bless you, and may Mary Our Mother watch over you always.

Sincerely in Christ,

Bishop Michael F. Burbidge
