The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops asked all dioceses across the country to unite in a Day of Prayer for Peace in Our Communities. A special task force was created to support bishops in marking that day and promoting peace.
The Day of Prayer for Peace in Our Communities was celebrated on September 9, the Feast of St. Peter Claver. On this day, the Diocese of Raleigh joined in prayer and promoted a renewed commitment in the Church to act for peace and reconciliation through a prayer service at Immaculate Conception Chapel, which was live-streamed for the faithful through YouTube. The entire live stream can be viewed above.
