Some 60 years ago, Bishop Vincent S. Waters, brand new to the Diocese of Raleigh, founded the North Carolina Catholic newspaper to help him connect with a far-flung flock that was spread throughout the 100-county state and to help him reach his ambitious goal to "make every North Carolinian a Roman Catholic."
Evangelization -- and re-evangelization -- is still one of NC Catholics magazine’s primary goals. Within its paper and electronic pages, you will find the Good News of the eastern North Carolina Catholic Church. You will also find hard news and features: stories of a southern diocese serving a burgeoning Catholic population, a new Spanish-speaking Catholic population establishing a home in North Carolina, new church communities and schools, men and women answering the call to the priesthood and religious life -- Catholics with diverse heritages living their faith with spirit and joy.
NC Catholics magazine (renamed in 2005) is delivered free to every Catholic home registered at a parish. This is a service provided by the Diocese of Raleigh. If you're not getting the magazine, check with your parish office, or write us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Subscriptions are also available for $16 per year. Mail your inquiries to NC Catholics, 7200 Stonehenge Dr., Raleigh, NC 27613.
